Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. Prince was renowned as an innovator, and was widely known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, and wide vocal range. He was widely regarded as the pioneer of Minneapolis sound. Underworld the classic UK electronic music duo, is perhaps best known for “Born Slippy .NUXX“, a track made popular in the Danny Boyle 1996 hit film Trainspotting.

The band is releasing their seventh studio album, Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future, on underworldlive.com via Caroline International on 18th March 2016.

RBMA Festival New York returns for its fourth consecutive year

Monday is channeling moody vibes with non-stop rain, but there we’ve got encouraging news to share. RBMA NY announced their 2016 Festival lineup late last week, and the bill is as impressive as we’ve come to expect, with top slots reserved for the premiere of ANOHNI’s Hopelessness live show at Park Avenue Armory and a full-length performance of Dizzee Rascal’s 2003 album Boy in Da Corner. New York City’s premier film event, Tribeca Film Festival, also returns in April. Ticket packages are on sale before March 21st, before individual screening tix become available. Turn up on a Tuesday with JUICEBOXXX at Brooklyn’s newest DIY venue, Sunnyvale. On Wednesday, you can catch a five-piece analog soul ensemble at Brooklyn Bowl, or a Women’s Raga Massive at Pioneer Works. The Rubin Museum continues screenings of The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jayethis week. The film explores the romantic and artistic partnership of industrial-rock pioneer Genesis BREYER P-ORRIDGE and Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge. Later this week, IDIO Gallery celebrates their latest exhibition, TREES, a show of photography that comes to life as both a silent poem and an implied joke. Coming up, the coolest indie music kids we know, The Wild Honey Pie, throw a showcase on Avenue A. Tidal to Host Inaugural Event in TIDAL Theater at Barclays Center on December 18

Concert to feature performances from deadmau5, Pusha T and TIDAL Rising Artists: D.R.A.M., Justine Skye, The Cold Seas, and Slonk Donkerson.

Global music and entertainment platform TIDAL today announced TIDAL X: deadmau5, the first in a series of curated performances at the new TIDAL Theater at Barclays Center. The intimate show will feature performances from deadmau5, Pusha T and TIDAL Rising Artists: D.R.A.M., Justine Skye, The Cold Seas, and Slonk Donkerson.

The Full Arts Line Up

Artez is one of Serbias most outstanding street artists. He’s been making waves through the graffiti art scene, travelling world wide to showcase his incredible murals.

In a Soundwave first, street artists, mural artists and illustrators from across Croatia and the rest of Europe will be invited to transform the walls of apartments and buildings across the festival site into living, evolving pieces of art. The entire festival site will become the canvas. The Full Arts Line Up can be viewed here.

There will also be the introduction of a film programme including an independent and Croatian cinema showcase, offering an open cinema experience for the duration.

As a graffiti artist, illustrator and graphic designer, Phill Blake, aka Philth, has one of the most distinctive artist’s styles within the community. His work can be seen on the streets and galleries across the UK and worldwide; having spent time painting in Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Sheffield, Madrid, Berlin & Barcelona.

MoMA PS1 presents Warm Up 2015, beginning June 27 and taking place every Saturday this summer through September 5. A New York summer staple now in its 18th year, MoMA PS1’s highly anticipated Warm Up outdoor music series continues its tradition of introducing audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, and DJs—both local and international—across a range of genres. Warm Up supports both established and emerging artists by creating a platform that allows for experimentation and providing a space for collaboration, new material, and side projects.

Warm Up is held in MoMA PS1’s courtyard, which this year will feature an installation by New York/Madrid architecture firm Andrés Jaque, Office for Political Innovation, COSMO, the winning design of the 16th annual Young Architects Program (YAP). M. Wells Dinette will be open for cocktails and will be serving grab-and-go summer fare in the courtyard for Warm Up Saturdays.

The series is programmed by a curatorial committee selected by the museum to represent a wide spectrum of expertise and experience in music, sound, and the performing arts, resulting in a unique lineup of artists that explore, interpret, and combine genres. Performers are selected by Klaus Biesenbach, Director, MoMA PS1, and Chief Curator at Large, The Museum of Modern Art; and organized by Margaret Knowles, Curatorial Assistant and Warm Up Producer, MoMA PS1. The Warm Up 2015 curatorial committee includes Dean Bein, Head of True Panther Sounds; Jonathan Galkin, Co-Founder of DFA Records; Eliza Ryan; Brandon Stosuy, Managing Editor of Pitchfork; Imogene Strauss, of Cool Managers; Matt Werth, Label Head of RVNG Intl.

Warm Up will feature rotating stage environments by young, emerging design talent —including 69, Chen Chen & Kai Williams, Fort Makers, Fort Standard, The Principals, and Sit and Read—organized by Jocelyn Miller, Curatorial Associate, MoMA PS1.

Divinity Roxx at Harlem Arts Festival 2015 in NYC

Super excited to be playing The Harlem Arts Festival this year. This is really special too because its a dream come true to be joined on stage by The Children’s Aid Society Chorus to sing and perform one of my songs with me. I can’t front, I’ve been a little overwhelmed the past couple days. Coming right out of Europe into a gruesome schedule in NYC has been tough for the kid but today everything seemed to come together. I’m really especially honored that Alchemy Creamery has created a delicious Divinity Roxx flavor of their vegan ice cream with Vanilla Almond Ice Cream topped with caramel and garnished with a vanilla cookie all for a special treat, and trust me it is really really good! I went to the factory where they make the ice cream and got to hang out with the mastermind himself, Guiseppe the “alcreamest” and tried to get the secret to how he makes vegan ice cream so good.If you’re around at the festival you will have a chance to taste it for yourself. Its pretty amazing! We’ll be giving it away as part of our Roxx Random Acts of Kindness Initiative (#RAKROXX) and spreading some pretty sweet love all around Harlem.

I also got a chance to swing by the Converse Rubber Tracks studios in the BK where I may be recording soon. Got a few new Converse to rock for the show on Saturday too (lucky me!)

Hope you get a chance to come thru to the show on tomorrow. We’re playing a bunch of stuff we’ve never played before live so I’m looking forward to something new, something rockin’ and as always, its gots to be fun(ky)! Earlier in the day, around 3PM I’m gonna be appearing at Harlem Pride for a short solo bass set and what a Pride gathering it is with the Supreme Court making such a historical ruling today.

Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem all day, Free event. Headlining the main stage at 7PM.

The Harlem Arts Festival (NYC), June 27th 2015. I represent Miss Roxx, who is best known as the former musical director and bass player for Beyonce and Korean Pop sensation 2NE1. Although, Divinity has backed some of todays’ greatest, its on stage with her own band where she exudes passion. Music is described as Rock / Hip-Hop influenced with Funk.

Jazz/Electronica Duo FILTER KINGZ release new material after 10-year online writing collaboration

After nearly a decade, the Soul/Jazz/Electronica duo FILTER KINGZ release a collection of new singles, EP’s and a Vinyl album project. This is the result of a ten-year, online musical collaboration between New York singer/songwriter JAMES AVATAR and Australian pianist/EDM producer PHILIP GELBACH.

“Let The Band Play On” is a song off the new CHRONIC ELECTRONIC ORCHESTRA EP called “Respect The Playlist”– a satirical tribute to the Urban Dance music of the 80’s & 90’s.

The humorous song, set in a deep Dancehall Reggae groove, is about an amateur performer who keeps getting heckled during his many attempts at greatness. (Explicit Lyrics)

Fusing the worlds of electro-acoustic music, film-making and story-telling, CHi2 (Liz & Sarah Liew)’s exciting multi-media production is based on the classic Chinese tale of Monkey King.

‘Double – violin assault specialists’ CHi2 provide a brand new spin on the classic Chinese tale of Monkey King. Celebrating the richness and colour of Beijing Opera and re – interpreted for the modern day, CHi2 have created an edgy musical cocktail of traditional and modern sounds, fusing together acoustic and electric instruments, digital media and one of the world’s most ancient art forms with a unique contemporary twist, to create a stunning show that bursts with colour and vibrancy.

The story is based on the sixteenth century classic Chinese folk epic novel, Monkey: Journey To The West, to which CHi2 have composed an original soundtrack, complemented by the filmic interpretation of the storyline by filmmakers Michele Rosaus and Steve Teers, whilst award – winning composer Tom E Morrison has produced the score. The drama both aurally and visually, is enhanced by the interaction of actor/narrator Tom Wu as he employs spoken word, narration and his expertise in kung fu to convey the thrill – seeking adventures of the storyline.

Chi2 are a duo of British-Chinese violinists who play a fusion of classical and electronic music influenced by their Singapore Chinese heritage. They have performed and toured with many pop artists including Moby, Anastacia, Lamb., Goldfrapp, Uriah Heep, Sixpence None The Richer, Boy George, Nelly Furtado, KLF and The Orb.
