My painting is expressed both in the figurative style and that of the abstract. The figurative to tell things simple and give an accessible readability to my feelings, my dreams—it is a simple and effective story. The abstract allows for freedom of movement and expression. The canvas becomes a space that directs the subconscious, a blue song, sweet and strong energy at once. I also like to experiment, try new forms and new images. The series “Homage to Marilyn Monroe” in 2012, is an example. There are portraits in oil and acrylic, which are flirting with the modernity of digital, it’s an experience that nurtures diversity of technique and also my creativity. The variety of materials and styles allows me to express my feelings towards this fabulous and glamorous woman, but above all it is an ode to the irresistible beauty. A beauty that was promised too much trouble: the truth of a tragic fate. Also, a Tribute to Andy Warhol, with more than 50 digital portraits of PopArt.
