My paintings, which are often referred to as “atmospheric expressionism” for their dreamscape colors and bizarre images, are largely an attempt to determine how far the human imagination can stretch itself, by allowing the work to push the limits of the mind’s eye. I believe the human imagination is as deep and as vast as the universe is expansive and limitless. It possesses the same compelling internal mysteries as the compelling external mysteries possessed by the starry universe. Usually, the experiment becomes an effort to depict an imaginary vision of the origins of the natural world, both as landscape and as skyscape.

Strong colors play an important role in my pictures in oil and acrylic. They allow me to express my positive view towards life. The owners of my paintings say that they are captivated by my landscapes, flowers or abstactions, and that my art is for the heart.

Since 1982 I did over 50 exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad. 1997 I was listed in the ”Lexicon on art in Switzerland” and in 2001 I became a member of the “Guild of Swiss mountain art painters”.

Colors are my emotions that guide me through the real world. The real world is complex and full of pain. What I seek in color and space is the beauty which is hidden behind human sentiment. As a result of my quest for sensation, the world becomes much simpler, a lot more energetic, and beautiful. This is achieved by intensifying the significance of color. It is pure pleasure for me to generate ideas and work on images. My creations are not the imitation of the surrounding world but a memoir of reality, which is inseparable from human experience.

I try not to copy the reality of the object, but the rather objectification of its live appearance; it’s artistically-embodied formalization. This is related to the thing as well as to the space around it, which is apprehended by me objectively and colorfully. From an aesthetic viewpoint in general, my approach to fine art can be determined as opposing naturalism as well as minimalism.
