]]> I was born in Midland, Texas in 1951. I attended Stephens College and Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts where I earned a degree in documentary photography in 1976, studying under Jerome Liebling. An abiding curiosity of nature’s wonders underlies much of my work.

”We live on a fragile planet. It is my hope that my work will evoke and inspire joy in nature, an awe and respect for the earth and appreciation of the beauty of light and shadow.”

“In our hurry-up and stressful technological age, we should take the opportunity to step back and observe our world apart from man’s influence as it once was (and still is). I believe that the stimulation and use of imagination is essential to our health.”
