Utilizing many different kinds of energy from standard electricity to solar cells, the artists in this exhibition create sculptures that engage the viewer by seemingly coming alive. Sculpture’s approach to the kinetic is one that continues to grow and thrive as technology marches steadily forward. These artists stay at the cusp of scientific experimentation, pulling varied kinds of machinery into their studios and emerging with kinetic sculpture that has the ability to assert itself in a way most art fails to approach.

Closing soon, this exhibition is one that can’t be seen outside of actual experience. The work was curated by Nick Battis and Linda Lauro Lazin. Artists included in the exhibition are U-Ram Choe, Casey Curran, Chico MacMurtrie, Reuben Margolin, Alan Rath, Adriana Salazar, Björn Schülke, Che-Wei Wang, and Zimoun.

Exhibition ends April 27, 2013. Pratt Manhattan Gallery, 144 West 14th Street, New York, NY 10011
